Short version: Coders Rock has no account system, sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and never sends the code you write anywhere. There is no server here that could receive it.

What we do not collect

  • No account. There is nothing to sign up for, so we never ask for your name, email address, or a password.
  • No cookies. This site sets none, for any purpose, including analytics and advertising.
  • No analytics or tracking. There are no measurement scripts, tag managers, advertising pixels, or session recorders on any page.
  • No third-party scripts or fonts. Everything a page needs is served from this site. Your browser is not asked to contact another company in order to display it.

The code you write

Every challenge runs inside your own browser. Pseudocode runs on an interpreter that is part of this page, Python runs on a copy of Skulpt served from this site, and JavaScript runs in a web worker whose network access has been removed outright.

So what you type is never uploaded, never logged, and never reviewed by anyone. We also do not keep it: close or reload the tab and it is gone, here and on your own machine. That is not a promise about our intentions -- there is no code here that could do otherwise.

The Download and Save buttons under the editor are the one exception, and only in the direction you choose: they write a file onto your device, through your own browser, when you ask them to. Nothing is sent to us, nothing is kept here, and we never learn that you pressed them. Reload the page and the editor is empty again, saved file or not.

What our host necessarily sees

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like every web server on the internet, theirs receives the request your browser makes in order to answer it -- which includes your IP address, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent string. That data is handled under Cloudflare's privacy policy, and we neither add anything to it nor build profiles from it.

We mention this because "we collect nothing" would otherwise be an overstatement. We collect nothing. Serving a web page is not free of records.

The same applies to the badge images on our Spread the Word page. If you put one on your own site using the image snippet, your visitors' browsers fetch that picture from us, and Cloudflare receives those requests the same way. That is why the badge we offer first is plain HTML that loads nothing at all, and why the images can be downloaded and hosted by you instead.

Links to other sites

Pages here link to Learn to Write Code, Exteran Studios, and occasionally to documentation elsewhere. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies, not this one.

Children

The site is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. Because there is no account and no data collection, there is nothing for a parent to request, correct, or delete.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Should the site ever add something that does collect data -- analytics, for example -- this page will say so before that change goes live, not after.

Contact

Questions about this policy can go through Exteran Studios, which operates this site.
